Foods of NY Tours is looking for an experienced Part-time Office Assistant to help with data entry, food bags, and various projects related to weekly and daily food orders.

It’s a part-time position needed a few days a week. The office currently is run by two full-time staff and one part-time staff. We’re looking for an assistant to join the team, and there’s room for growth!

Position: Experienced Office Assistant
Days: Tuesdays, Fridays & Saturdays
Pay and Hours: $18/Hour, 20 Hours/Week

Foods of NY Tours is looking for an office assistant to help with data entry related to weekly and daily food orders for the next day’s Food Tours. Also prepare tour-guide supply bags (silverware, neighborhood guides, napkins) for our Food Tours. The Assistant would also be responsible for helping with various projects as needed. Light data entry. Answer phones and general customer service type inquiries in professional and courteous manner. Some time is spent in the neighborhood (on the street) helping prep/remind/update the food shops & restaurants for the days tours. Beginner Excel Knowledge helpful.

Foods of NY Tours is looking for an office assistant to help with all aspects of tour set-up, including:
–Preparing food orders and invoices using Excel
–Preparing paperwork and supplies for the tour guides, including some light lifting
–Delivering paperwork to shops & restaurants
–Handling time-sensitive tour updates to shops & restaurants
–Answering business calls and e-mails professionally and resolving customer issues
–Assist with various projects as needed

PREFERRED QUALITIES:
Detail-oriented
Ability to problem solve and deliver excellent customer service
Comfortability using basic Apple software

A friendly, open demeanor

Since 1999 Foods of New York Tours has been giving food tasting and cultural walking tours through New York City’s most delicious and historic neighborhoods. We provide a “non-touristy” experience so guests feel like native New Yorkers. Each tour includes food tastings from specialty food shops, ethnic eateries, and local restaurants, as well as an off-the-beaten-path glimpse of Life in New York City, including history, culture, architecture, and entertainment offerings.

Our small office (on Barrow Street in Greenwich Village) is responsible for the behind the scenes work that makes the food tours run smoothly and successfully.
