Meet Chef Raffaele, Owner & Executive Chef of the top rated Rafele Ristorante in Greenwich Village, and go behind-the-scenes to learn how to cook a four-course Italian feast! Whether you're a cooking enthusiast or a novice, this hands on cooking class promises to be fun and entertaining.
In each class, you will arrive to find an array of colorful, fresh ingredients. You will assist in preparing 1 recipe, and get a grasp of basic cooking techniques and an understanding of essential Italian ingredients.
We'll begin with a glass of Prosecco and a nibble to get you into the spirit of Italy. Chef Raffaele with assign each person a task and provide individual attention. Food preparation will take one hour. After the prepping portion is completed, you will sit down and enjoy the dishes you've prepared, paired with a tasting of specially selected Italian wines, with your class companions.
Wine pairings (or non-alcoholic beverages) for each course are included. Additional wine or cocktails may be purchased at the restaurant.
Numbers are limited to a minimum of 12 and maximum of 20 people for this group Italian cooking class. You will go home with a full belly and recipes from the evening's menu so you can re-create this feast at home.

Note: You may recognize our beloved Chef Raffaele from our Original Greenwich Village Tour. His restaurant is a permanent tasting location on that tour. We created this event because most people who take the tour wanted more of Raffaele's charm and good food!

Tagliata di Manzo
grilled, grass-fed New York strip loin with salsa verde
layers of espresso-soaked lady fingers with light rum mascarpone
Chef Raffaele's Bio
Born and raised in Naples, Italy, Raffaele Ronca comes from a family of butchers and fishermen and has had a passion for food all his life. With his family also in the restaurant business, food and cooking was not only an integral part of his Italian culture, it is in his blood.
Working in his Uncle's restaurant in Naples and helping his Mother make fresh pasta daily, Raffaele developed a lifelong passion for food. Immigrating to America at the age of 21, he worked steadily at some of New York's most authentic Italian restaurants including as Executive Chef at Palma, Chef du Cuisine at Bellavitae, and Manager of Food and Wine at Cafe Torino.
A few years ago, Raffaele and Romeo Palmisano, an old friend from Naples, began discussing opening their own restaurant that would feature their beloved Naples' cuisine. Working together, perfecting each detail which includes also the weekly flower arrangements - they created Ristorante Rafele.
At Rafele, Romeo and Raffaele believe in L'appetito viene mangiando--that's Italian for "Food that makes you want more!"
